The urgent need of having Global roman script for the Sindhis scattered throughout the world.

There are more than 4 millions Sindhis scattered throughout the Globe. And they have no facility for learning either Arabic or Devnagiri script. Quite a few of them still speak Sindhi but their number is decreasing.

Fortunately, almost all of them know Roman script.

Keeping this in view, at my approach, Mr. Arjan Daswani of Singapore formed a Romanized Sindhi Team of like minded (Names: Mr. G. L. Chandiramani Mumbai, Mr. Arjan Daswani Singapore, Col. (Retd) Ram Gulrajani Chennai, and Dr Devendra Kodwani UK) who, after study of several months, in consultation with several Scholars, came out with a most standardized Script version of Romanized Sindhi which, under the auspices and blessings of Alliance of Sindhi Associations of Americas Inc. was put to a large gathering of Worldwide Sindhi delegates attending 16th International Sindhi Sammelan Los Angeles July 2009, where the Script was overwhelmingly approved and adopted recommending Globally scattered Sindhis for its usage. Later, the Script was discussed further, deliberated on and after some improvements, the Script was unanimously approved and adopted by several Top level Sindhi professors and scholars of India who had gathered at specifically organized Summit Conference at “Sindhu Bhavan” Ahmedabad India on 29 – 30 March 2010. The Script is reproduced herein and is known as STANDARDIZED ROMAN SINDHI SCRIPT LA2009 UPDATED AHMEDABAD MARCH 2010 for GLOBAL SINDHI USE. (View fuller story at www.SindhiBoli.org)

Says Dada J.P. Vaswani: “Language is the soul of our community. If the soul goes away, how long can the community survive?” How perfectly analyzed? Please hear him at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g7D70D_xNlk

If you want this 2OOO year old language to survive, use it yourself and propagate its use.
