                                                       Prepartion of a CD

In order to condense my entire work of a lifetime , in English and Indonesian ,I have started transferring it on a CD There are six sections in it .

I intend presenting the CD to you for your perusal .

Right  from  day one , the Indonesian Consulate , Mumbai  has been a great help to me  Without their help , my work would have been dull and  drab .Also sub standard .

I will appreciate if you give me your opinion  after viewing the CD .

The first section  is Bridge to Indonesia . In English

This deals with the ancient links between Indonesia  and   India .

The Indonesian Consulate is preparing the  Indonesian  version .

The second section  is  29 Tales of Hitopadesha  = Indian Folklore – in Indonesian

It will be a good idea if  one reads  the Indonesian   version  along with the English version . This will give a command to the reader in both the languages .

The third section is Classic Hitopadesha Vol. I    Hitopadesha was written in Sanskrit in 1675 A.D . Maybe some scholar will  translate  the balance three volumes

Surely it will be appreciated .

 .

The fourth section is Indian Folklore: 29  Tales of Hitopadesha  in English taken from the Classic Hitopaesha  described above .

The fifth section is  Tales of Panchatantra in English . Indian  folklore taken from Classic Panchatantra  written in Sanskrit in  2OO B.C

Maybe some scholar  in Indonesian   will  translate it into  Indonesian and put Wayang Kulit  sketches  in the stories:  in the English version as well as in  the  Indonesian version .

The sixth section is Ghazals  ( Love songs ) in Indonesian  which I have translated  from my mother tongue Sindhi  into Indonesian .Being a  trained musician . I intend  composing  it in Indonesian tune with notes similar  to Indian  notes .The rhythm will be in six beats .

.

                                                    GHAZAL

.

is the poetry of love .It started in Persia and by the 7th century it was established  as a style for expressing  one’s love towards  one’s beloved or hinting of love  for  the almighty in a very subtle way ..

This   aspect  was established in  Sufism , which orginated  in Persia . .
Slowly this style spread to India  and other parts of the world .

I have no idea if Ghazal  is in vogue in Indonesia .Will anyone guide me ?

On my part I  have already composed  ghazals in Indonesian  in typical Indonesian note combinations  ,many of which are identical to Indian note combinations  (Raagas )

The Indonesian musicians  are welcome to do the same  in  their  own style  . No charges for the lyrics .

I have composed countless Ghazals in Urdu  in India

The Ghazals  are usually composed in  common  rhythms of 6 beats , 7 beats and 8 beats  I have however composed them in 12 types of rhythms .

.All have been  printed by Crescendo  Music ( India) pvt . Ltd . Mumbai

                Indonesian Ghazal
                    Love song
    Biarlah saya mengamati
    Apa yang terjadi,
>   Saat saya  berjumpa denganya,
    Walau hanya sekali,
>   Dan mencurahkan kesedihan saya
>
>   Sesudahnya dia boleh setuju atau tidak,
>   Kegembirannya
>   Biarlah saya mengamati
    Apa yang terjadi
    Saat saya  bicara   kepadanya,
    Walau hanya  satu kali

>
>   Sampai adalah hati,
    Kesedihan akan menyertainya,
>   Oleh karena itu
    Saya akan mengamati,
  > Apa yang terjadi,
    Kalau saya memberi hatiku
    Kepada  siapa saja,
>
>   Ketika  kondisi Kekasih diketahui
>   Masih saja saya akan jatuh cinta
>   Dan mengamati apa yang terjadi
